In today’s world, we read more and more but actually learn less and less. We travel more but change less. We watch more but play a smaller part in our own lives. We’ve seen infinite tourist destinations a thousand times on the Internet and no longer are easily amazed, even when we actually visit the place. So why do we bother to travel at all?
“203 Travel Challenges” is different to any travel book you’ve read until now. It’s not for reading, it’s for taking action. It will give you ideas for destinations and new experiences but, above all, it will inspire you to transform every trip into your very own personal adventure.
Who is this book for?
For anyone who thinks they have tried everything (most challenges appear in several variants with different levels of difficulty, intended for different types of travelers). For anyone who feels afraid of trying out new things (because there is a section called “How to do it” with instructions and specific ideas). For anyone who thinks they just can’t (because there is a section called “Gain inspiration from…” filled with true stories of ordinary people, who will show you that you can actually do anything!). For any ordinary person who loves traveling, the new things in life as well as life itself. For any tired, busy, serious, conservative, disappointed or sad person – you are the one who needs a little change of scenery the most!
Do at least one thing you have never done before in your life – and you won’t be able to stop.
Take the ingredients of the challenges, stir them, move them and change them to create your own challenges.
This is not another “101-beautiful-places-to-visit-in-your-life book”. It’s not about the number, it’s not about the places, it’s all about you. So we poured all of our souls, experience and inspiration into this guidebook. When we were done, the challenges turned out to be 203. The number was odd and somewhat arbitrary-looking but it turned out to be lucky (we consulted a Buddhist monk about it!).
We know you won’t complete all challenges, and we know you will think of your own, and as this is meant to be a personal book, the final number actually depends on you.
